Lately, it has also been followed as a fashion. However, greater numbers of people still feel that a head covered by hair is always more attractive than a bald one.

Every month, hair grows by about 1 inch. Normally, around 85% of the hair on your head is always in the growing phase at any time, and 15% is not. Five years is the maximum amount of time for which hair normally lives. Considering these statistics, it is difficult to understand the causes of hair loss, which might be more apparent in a few of us.

The follicle is a cavity in the skin where the hair sits. In cases of hair loss this follicle shrinks over time, thereby causing shorter and thinner hair. The final result could be a very tiny follicle with no hair in it.

Ex-wife called Jackson a “sociopath”: police witness

AFP, May, 2005

SANTA MARIA, United States (AFP) Michael Jackson’s ex-wife, who sung the pop icon’s praises at his child sex trial last week, described the singer as a “sociopath” in an earlier police interview, jurors heard.

Police sergeant Steve Robel also testified that Debbie Rowe, who was married to Jackson from 1996 to 1999, had said she agreed to make only constructive statements about the singer after their divorce.

Robel’s evidence went some way to mitigating the impact of Rowe’s testimony last week when, to the dismay of prosecutors who called her as a witness, she lauded Jackson as “generous to a fault” and “a great father.”

Robel said the 46-year-old blonde had painted a very different portrait of her former husband in March, 2004, when he interviewed her in…

old building

0 Comments | Yakima Herald – Republic, May 19, 2008 | by Philip Ferolito

After finding newspapers dating back to 1916 in a wall of a historic downtown building, construction workers renovating the structure are curious about what other treasure may be inside.

Kyle Brown and Chad Jones were tearing out a wall of the old Senator Apartments building at the corner of A and Front streets Friday when they found dated copies of the Yakima Daily Republic and the Spokane Spokesman Review inside.

The two men are converting the first floor of the four-story brick building into window storefronts for commercial shops.

The old newspapers were found stuffed between wall studs of the structure that was built in 1911. Jones says they were probably used for insulation.

“We’re kind of curious what we’ll find when we start tearing at this wall,” said Brown, pointing to another strip of wall adjacent to the one where the newspapers were found. “I’m kind of curious as to what else is in this building.

Brown said he was amazed looking at the advertisements in the old newspapers, some with World War I propaganda and another with an ad listing a pair of roller skates for $1.95.

Looking back at the era, he recalled, “Ten dollars was a lot of money back then.”

But the newspapers weren’t the only discovery at the historic structure, which features ceramic floor tiles and an aluminum plate ceiling covering lath and plaster.

Another worker gutting the ceiling found two jars of tobacco dating back to 1908 behind the lath and plaster

I interviewed and

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

I interviewed and let myself
get caught up in the excitement and ignored the nagging doubts that
told me the job responsibilities were not right. I accepted the job
offer, and spent most of the next 11 months hating my new job. It was a
great company, just a bad fit with my personality. I knew this AFTER I
started interviewing, but I found it hard to say no. If I had done my
research ahead of time, I never would have considered this opportunity.

Lesson: Research BEFORE you leap when you’re calm and rational and can
focus your time and energy on those specific companies and
opportunities where you’ll feel more of a fit.

You should answer these basic questions:

How large is the company?

What products/services do they offer?

Who are their competitors?

Where do they rank in their market?

What is their financial situation?

The advantages of knowing this information up front puts you in a power
position when you DO receive a call from an employer.

Do not know yet if

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Do not know yet if I can do this on a bike, but I think so. A lot depends on wind, weather and type of bike. If it is light enough I can go further faster in one sitting? I wonder what the world record is for the fastest crossing. I can trade sleep for lack of speed? Well I guess you can see why I am going to cycle across America now? How about you, why are you considering doing something spectacular in your life?

They are fast

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

They are fast learners, and can generalize about subject, just like pigs can. Dolphins sometimes have been described as being as intelligent as a two year old human child. Dolphins can even learn to understand complicated commands, even bits of language, which they can use to communicate in a simple way with their trainers.

Dolphin Fact #4

Dolphins eat several kind of fish, and squid. How much a dolphin eats depends a lot on what type of fish or squid they eat. Some fish, such as mackerel or herring, have a lot of fat in them. This means that a Dolphin will get alot of energy from eating these fish. However, squid does not have much fat, so a Dolphin has to eat more squid to get the same kind of energy it would get from fish.

Raise a dram to St Andrew

0 Comments | Daily Post; Liverpool (UK), Nov 28, 2009 | by Anonymous

FROM the wild highlands of Inverness to the cobbled streets of Edinburgh, the finest drams of whisky will be raised to celebrate St Andrew’s Day on November 30, bringing Scotland’s rich flavour map to life.

And with so many worldwide whisky festivals on the calendar, it won’t just be Scottish revellers lifting the roof and toasting their patron saint.

In search of the perfect dram, global interest has never been greater for this beguiling golden liquid made from grain, water and yeast.

By law, Scottish whisky must be matured for a minimum of three years, and the different aromas and tastes are achieved by small variations in the process and the length of maturation in oak casks.

Personally, I prefer a single malt produced from one distillery, as opposed to a blend which is a mix of malt whisky from more than one maker.

To fully appreciate this heroes’ drink, the consensus among craftsmen is that it should be drunk from a tulipshaped glass, with a dash of still water to increase the aromas – welcome to the whisky trail.

On Christmas Day 1887, William Grant rolled the barrels in the Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown, and the first drops flowed. Five generations on, the family still uses time-honoured techniques and produces the world’s most-awarded single malt Scotch whisky.

Try their signature Glenfiddich 12 Year Old (pounds 26.69, 70cl, major retailers) which is fresh and fruity with a hint of pear and is aged in American and Spanish oak casks.

For a single malt that’s exceptionally smooth, the Glenfiddich 18 Year Old (pounds 38.19, 70cl major retailers) smacks of spiced apple and cinnamon, with a touch of sweetness thanks to the Spanish Oloroso sherry cask.

On the west bank of the Spey, whisky noses will find The Macallan distillery which dates back to 1824

Showing their mettle in the fire and nettles

0 Comments | Coventry Evening Telegraph (England), July 26, 2010

MORE than 2,500 competitors from across Britain and beyond battled through muddy water, fire and 7ft nettles to conquer what is billed as the country’s toughest assault course.

The Nettle Warrior event at Perton, near Wolverhampton, attracted entrants from around the world, including a man from Nepal and other contestants from California, Belgium, Germany, and Azerbaijan.

Many of those attacking the eight-mile course were wearing fancy dress, while one man tackled the nettles wearing just a thong.

Organiser Billy Wilson believes the annual event is so popular because they allow people to push themselves to the limit and confront their fears.

The best products to sell online

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

The best products to sell online are those that can be packaged and shipped easily and without damage.

In addition goods that can be bought without the need to touch or taste them generally sell well online. Customers hesitate to buy perishables without being able to hold them and check for quality. The same is not true for things like music CDs or books. So if you are looking to set up a successful ecommerce web site then choose your products carefully.

Selling Online Rule 2: Web design and Usability

The ease with which a customer can navigate your online shop and perform tasks that he or she intends to refers to the usability of your website.
